After years of fan requests, Playground Games has finally brought the Forza Horizon Festival to Japan, and the result is nothing short of stunning. Forza Horizon 6 launches May 19 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with early access for Premium Edition owners starting May 15.
The game features Japan’s biggest open world map in the series’ history, spanning everything from the neon-soaked streets of Tokyo to the winding mountain passes around Mount Fuji. Over 550 real-world cars are available at launch, and the game is available on Game Pass from day one.
One of the bigger shakeups this time around is the new ranking system. Players must work their way through a tiered progression before unlocking access to the best supercars, including a special area of the map called Legend Island. It’s a more structured approach compared to previous entries, and early impressions suggest it adds a satisfying sense of progression.
Visually, Forza Horizon 6 is reportedly the best-looking racing game on console, pushing Xbox hardware to its limits. The game is also confirmed to be coming to PlayStation 5 later this year — a first for the series.
